Steps to send a 50 GB file for free
- 01
Check the real file size
Look at the file details on your device. The file must be 50 GB or smaller.
- 02
Use a steady connection
Use a wired connection if you can. Keep the device plugged in and stop it from sleeping.
- 03
Choose the file
Open TransferSize, select Choose files, pick the file, and select Continue.
- 04
Create a link
Set the expiry and a password if you need one, then start the upload.
- 05
Leave the page open
Wait until Transfer ready appears. Then copy and test the link.
The recipient opens the transfer link in a browser, enters the password if one was set, previews supported files when enabled, and downloads without creating an account.
A few things that matter
Plan enough time
50 GB takes about 5.5 hours at 20 Mbps upload or 1.1 hours at 100 Mbps. Wi-Fi changes and other traffic can make it slower.
Give the recipient time
A free link can last up to seven days. Choose a date that gives the recipient a fair chance to download.
The limit is not a speed promise
Your browser, network, device, and source drive still have to stay working for the upload.
Questions people ask
Can I close my laptop?
No. Keep it awake until the upload finishes.
What if the file is larger than 50 GB?
Plus allows up to 250 GB per file, Pro 500 GB, and Business 1 TB.
Choose your files and follow the steps above.
