What the Family plan is

Households usually end up with one person paying for storage and everyone else borrowing their login, or a stack of separate subscriptions that each sit half empty. Family fixes both.

The plan owner pays once and invites up to 3 more people. Each person signs in with their own TransferSize account and gets what Premium has: files up to 500 GB, links for up to a year and 30 days of Trash. Behind the scenes, you all draw from one shared pool.

What’s shared and what isn’t

It’s the first thing everyone asks, so here it is plainly.

• Shared: storage. 1 TB for the whole family. Files in My Files and active transfers both count toward it.
• Shared: bandwidth. 10 TB a month for streaming and downloading from your files, reset on the plan’s monthly date. Downloads of files you send never count.
• Shared: the bill. One payment, made by the plan owner.
• Not shared: your files. Everyone has their own My Files, transfers and Trash. Only storage totals are shared, never file names or contents.
• Not shared: sign-in. Each person has their own email and password.

Invite your family

1. 1In your workspace, open Account → Family.
2. 2Enter their email address and select Send invite.
3. 3They open the email within 7 days and sign in with that same address.
4. 4That’s it. They’re on the plan, and their files stay private.

Managing the plan

The owner sees everyone on the Family page, with the shared storage used and how many of the 4 places are taken. A pending invitation holds a place until it’s accepted or cancelled.

To take someone off the plan, select Remove. They keep their account and all their files, and move back to the plan they had before. Need more room? The owner can add storage ($5 per TB) or bandwidth ($3 per TB) a month at a time, and the whole family gets it.

Who it’s for

• Households. Everyone’s photos, school work and documents, without sharing one login.
• Couples and housemates. One bill, separate files.
• Parents helping out. Set up accounts for kids or grandparents and take care of the bill.

Good to know

• Only the owner’s add-ons grow the pool. Extra storage or bandwidth bought by a member doesn’t count while they’re on the plan.
• Transfers use the shared storage. On Family, active transfers count toward the pool. When they expire, the space comes back.
• 4 is the maximum. Remove someone or cancel an invitation to free a place.
