How the differences affect the job
Start with the file, the people receiving it, and what needs to happen after delivery.
The free limit matters before anything else
A small PDF or short video fits either service. A 20 GB project does not fit WeTransfer Free, while it fits inside TransferSize's 50 GB free file limit. A larger allowance does not make the upload faster, so check your upload speed and leave enough time.
Accounts change the sending step
TransferSize lets someone make a basic transfer without opening an account. WeTransfer Free needs an account. The person downloading from either service can use a valid public link without signing up.
Receiving files is a separate job
A send link delivers your files to someone else. A receive link or file request lets them upload to you. Both services can handle that job, but the available size and plan rules are different.
File quality is not the deciding factor
Both services deliver the selected original file. WeTransfer says it does not compress or re-encode uploads, and TransferSize also keeps the original. Compare limits, controls, and workflow instead.
Questions people ask
Which one is better for a large free transfer?
TransferSize is the simpler fit when the file is larger than WeTransfer's free allowance. A free TransferSize file can be up to 50 GB. WeTransfer Free allows up to 3 GB in a rolling 30-day period.
Does the person downloading need an account?
No. A person with a valid public link can download from either service without creating an account. WeTransfer does require the sender to use a free account; a basic TransferSize sender does not.
Will either service reduce the quality of my file?
Both services deliver the original file you selected. A browser preview may look different, but the downloaded file is not a smaller chat-app copy.
